In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week following that date to be Police Week. Each year, tens of thousands of Law Enforcement Officers from across the globe visit Washington, DC in honor of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
